Staying safe after 19th July

Our Response to COVID-19

UPDATED 14/07/21

We have been advised by the General Optical Council, Public Health England and NHS England to keep social distance and face mask/coverings precautions in place in our practices wherever possible.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Very professional and I felt very safe with COVID precautions also a very good choice of spectacles

Had thorough eye test and was prescribed new specs which were ready in a week. Brilliant service in the current crisis. Thanks to all!

Always friendly and helpful. They even delivered my new glasses whilst I was in isolation.

COVID Precautions

Whilst we’re pleased to inform you that our whole team have now had both doses of vaccination – due to the up-close and personal nature of providing eye care, precautions such as face coverings remain important to reduce any remaining risks and to keep you (and ourselves) protected.

Hopefully these final precautions won’t be necessary for long, and we will continue to comply with the latest guidance so you can be reassured your next visit to us will be as safe as possible.

We’d like to thank you for your continued patience with us during this difficult time.

Latest Guidance

Please call to make an appointment

Please make an appointment

Due to the preparations necessary to ensure your safety, we will not be able to accept ‘drop-in’ patients without an appointment. You can book one here.

To minimise numbers in the practice and to maintain social distancing, we ask you come alone to your appointment, unless a carer is required – please ask for further information at the time of booking.

Social distancing and PPE

Social distancing and PPE

We have implemented social distancing measures, and all optometrists and staff will be wearing the appropriate PPE.

Extended appointment times up to 1 hour

Extended appointment times up to 1 hour

This gives us enough time to clean and sanitise the practice and equipment, whilst minimising contact between patients – so you may arrive and leave safely.

Safety for our patients in-practice

Safety for our patients in-practice

Please note, we will be checking your temperature when you arrive in store. We politely request that you attend wearing a face mask/covering.

If you or someone in your home has a persistent cough, a high temperature or loss/change to your sense of smell or taste, please do not make an appointment with us and instead call 111 for advice.

We have a stringent disinfection regime in place

We have a stringent disinfection regime in place

All of our optometrists have recently been certified in ‘Infection Control and Prevention’ by the Association of Optometrists. In line with that guidance, we have disinfection and hygiene procedures within the practices.

Paperless Transactions

Paperless Transactions

We have gone almost gone paperless in-practice, instead opting to email receipts This reduces unnecessary contact to help keep you and our staff safer, as well as reducing waste as part of our “going green” initiative.

Due to these precautions – with less people in the practices and less appointments available, we’re assessing the needs of each booking on a case-by-case basis.

We apologise if we are unable to take your booking at your convenience.
