Book an Eye TestWhat Happens During An Eye Test?
Before your eye test
Before arriving for your eye test, you may want to note down any changes you have noticed in your vision and any questions you have for your optometrist. This will help you remember everything you want to address so you can get the most out of your appointment. If you already use contact lenses or glasses, it’s essential to bring these with you and the names of any prescription medications you take.
Our welcoming receptionists will greet you when you check in for your appointment. Your optometrist will be ready for you and begin your eye test by assessing your history and any changes you have noticed.
After the eye test
Our experienced optometrists will explain your exam results and answer any questions you may have. They will take the time to break down the findings, offering detailed explanations and addressing any queries. Using their expertise, they will be keen to offer you personal recommendations about what frames and lenses will best suit your individual needs and lifestyle. Rest assured, you will receive the personalised attention and expert guidance needed to make informed decisions about your eye health.

At first, your optometrist will thoroughly examine your eye to detect any irregularities. They will then test any changes in your vision. We will confirm how clearly you can see from a range of distances and test your ability to change focus. With age, your eyesight tends to deteriorate, and your vision may become blurry.
Your optometrist will use a binocular vision check to ensure your eyes work together to form one clear image. It lets us detect numerous problems that a standard eye test might not expose, such as prolonged vision processing speed and oculomotor dysfunction. This type of check is particularly important for children as it can catch issues that can go on to affect their school life. We use our binocular vision to carry out most daily tasks, including driving, which is why we must ensure your eyes are working as they should.
If it’s your first visit with us, we will also take a retinal photograph; it’s a non-invasive procedure that can detect disease and indicate your general eye health. This service is part of our enhanced eye exam.
For those who choose our enhanced eye exam, we offer our state-of-the-art 3D retinal scan that will take a hyper-accurate image of your eye to detect even the most minute changes in your eyes. This exam can detect the earliest signs of glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, diabetes-related retinopathy and more.

Glaucoma Screening is carried out as a part of your professional eye examination. It helps us to make certain you can see well, your eyes work properly together and are healthy and free of disease. This test involves:
- Measurement of the intra-ocular pressures.
- Examination of the optic disc.
- Visual field assessment.
Early detection and treatment is essential to prevent or delay the progression of more serious visual problems. As most early forms of glaucoma are without symptoms, regular screening, especially with increase in age, is essential to maintain healthy eyes.
