Our Newark and Anstey practices are served by our experienced hearing professional – Audiologist Gavin Wynne. After qualifying in 2004, Gavin has worked for national companies and independent practices dispensing both private and NHS hearing aids. He is passionate about helping patients with their own individual needs. We are also able to offer home visits for those who cannot get to our branches.

Complimentary Ear Health Checks
When you schedule a free hearing test, our audiologist will thoroughly assess the health of your ears. A brief medical history will be taken, and the integrity of your ears and eardrum will be checked with an Otoscopy.
Your hearing ability will then be checked with a range of everyday scenarios at various pitches and tones played through a pair of headphones. These will include your ability to:
- Understand speech in quiet surroundings.
- Understand speech in more challenging and noisy places.
- Cope with fatigue from wearing a hearing system in a noisy environment for a prolonged period.
- Respond to the new hearing levels and make sense of words again – assessed through an aided word recognition test.
This full diagnostic audiometry examination helps us determine exactly what has gone wrong with your hearing. Based on the results, your audiologist will recommend the next steps to keep your ears and hearing healthy and optimal.

Microsuction is a safe, efficient, gentle and comfortable method to remove wax from the ear canal; no liquids are used during the procedure. This means that the procedure is clean and non-invasive. It also allows us to clearly see the ear canal while we work, making it an exceptionally safe procedure. It’s quick and painless, often taking no more than a few minutes. It is considered the safest, most effective method of wax removal in the field and will be carried out by our specialist Audiologist.
How much does Ear Wax Removal cost?
We can carry out ear wax removal at £80 per appointment. Our Audiologist will only remove wax when required.
