Materials and Craftsmanship
Silhouette pioneered the world’s first screwless, hingeless, rimless titanium frame in 1999 — the Titan Minimal Art, which weighs as little as 1.8 grams. All frames are made in Austria, with roughly 80% of production still done by hand, using titanium and the brand’s own patented SPX+ plastic.
Who Silhouette Suits
The rimless, ultra-lightweight construction is particularly well suited to anyone with delicate facial features, since a full-rim frame can quickly look and feel too heavy by comparison. It also suits pressure-sensitive wearers who find standard frames uncomfortable behind the ears or on the nose bridge — with frames this light, there’s very little to feel at all.
Lens Compatibility
Silhouette’s rimless designs work well with single vision, varifocal and photochromic lenses, though the lens edge itself is more visible than on a full-rim frame, so our team will talk through lens shape and finish options specific to your chosen style during fitting.
