Our Website Runs on 100% Renewable Energy

We’re proud to announce that through working with our partners, we can now say that our website runs on 100% renewable energy.

The internet uses a lot of power. It’s estimated that data centres that host websites and services are responsible for somewhere between 1% – 3% of global energy use. This causes greenhouse gas emissions, and so contributes to climate change.

The internet costs a lot to power: over 400 terawatt-hours a year. While an individual website’s footprint is small, it all adds up, so working with our hosting partner, Xposure Creative, we have managed to transform our hosting. Most commonly, our power comes from wind and solar, but it could also include other sources like wave power, tidal power, geothermal power and more.

We are proud to continue our quest to become more environmentally friendly opticians. Cutting down on waste. Harnessing solar power and recycling water.
