400 Google Reviews later, and we’re immensely proud to retain our average rating of 5 stars. We couldn’t have achieved this momentous milestone without all of you choosing, recommending, and trusting us with your eye care and eye health.

Since opening, we’ve now gained a total of 676 Google reviews across all of our practices, a 100% recommended rating from 200 reviews on Facebook, and a total following of over 1,500 across social media.

 

Where It Began

34 years ago, in 1991, our founders and directors, Paresh Patel & Shaishav Shah, met whilst studying Optometry together at Cardiff University with a dream of going into business together in order to provide the highest standard of eye care with a real focus on individual needs.

Newark is Opticare’s flagship practice, which opened in 1991. Newark was chosen as the place for Opticare’s first practice due to its family-friendly environment.

Anstey followed in 1993 (at its original location on Cropston Road before moving to its current location in 1999) and Birstall in 1996 (at its original location before moving to its current location on Loughborough Road in 2005).

After 10 years, in 2001, our Newark Practice got a big refurbishment and investment in cutting-edge technology – for the time!

Fast forward to 2013 and Newark gets another expansion with an additional consulting room and a glazing lab downstairs with state-of-the-art glazing machinery.

In 2017, Opticare added Sileby Practice to their offerings.

Once more, in 2022, Newark Practice undergoes another refurbishment, transforming the front-of-house and patient areas with a brand-new reception, showroom, and browsing area.
