I was really proud to have won a national award for student of the year in 2015, closely followed by passing my pre-reg exams in 2017 - it was a long hard road, but worth it! When I'm not working I try to keep fit going to the gym 4/5 times a week, and I love to socialise with friends.

I travel around the country for military air shows - the Lancaster is my favourite plane. I also once walked up the CN Tower in Toronto (356m high!) raising over £3,000 for charity. And when it comes to films, I can’t resist The Greatest Showman - it’s uplifting, a great sing-a-long, and a reminder that you should never judge a book by its cover.

I do – they give me really sharp, clear vision, and I enjoy the fact that glasses can be such a stylish accessory these days.

For me, this isn’t just a job. Having a daughter who is severely sight-impaired has shown me how valuable good vision is, so being able to support patients on their own eye care journey feels very meaningful.

Most of my free time is spent with my husband and children. We love heading off in our touring caravan for little getaways, with Cornwall being a favourite spot. Abroad, I’d choose Bulgaria. And if you ask about films, I’d say The Notebook - it’s heartfelt, romantic, and always moves me to tears.
