Newark Opticare Opticians Open Day

Wednesday 29th January was a very special day for us all here at Opticare Opticians. It was our Newark Open Day.

Over the past few weeks, we had been extra hard at work planning, cajoling and preparing for a busy day of showcasing, raffles, prize giving and general merriment. With over £1,000 worth of prizes for grabs in our raffle, we were sure that many of our local patients and their friends would pop along to help raise more for charity and see the great work we do here in Newark – and they did.

We organised the day as a fun and informal way for our patients and their friends to see the varied work we do here in Newark. We had arranged demonstrations of our latest technology available to our patients such as the VisiOffice X and our very own OCT machine.

Plus to top off the open day, we launched the brand new range of Ted Baker frames. We are the only optician in the Newark area to stock Ted Baker so it was a bit of a coop for us.

We also had twisted a few arms of our suppliers (very politely) and managed to get a fantastic selection of prizes for our raffle. This year we are supporting Beaumond House in Newark. Beaumond House provides supportive palliative care to patients with life-limiting or terminal illnesses and their families living in Newark & district. The raffle was a great success and as we ‘go to print’ we are waiting to hear from the charity as to how much we have raised.
